River Park in Brooklyn Park

Tucked away in the southeast section of Brooklyn Park, River Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the city. This 38 acres of park land runs along the Mississippi River and includes a large nature area, shore fishing, trails, picnic shelter, tennis court, playground, boat launch, and restrooms. River Park is known for its spectacular fall colors and lovely cobblestone path. The beautiful scenery, park area, river, and new Paddle Share station will be sure to attract people of all ages! The Paddle Share station is located just east of the 83rd Avenue park entrance within the boat launch parking lot.

  • Distance to North Mississippi Regional Park: 4.5 miles
  • Approximate paddle time: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Bike share is not available at this location. Please use transit, ride share, or a private vehicle to make arrangements to get back to where you started your trip.

Be aware of river obstructions, such as overhanging and fallen trees.

  • Days available: Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays (May 25 - September 29)
  • Reservation window: Noon to 2:00 P.M.
  • Kayaks available: 6 solo and 2 tandem
  • Cost: $20 solo kayak and $35 tandem kayak
